Message from Zamri... ====================================================== Dear Colleague, Welcome to our new subscribers and Good Monday everyone ! How are you doing today ? My family and I took a 5-day vacation last week, and I tried to stay away from the internet during those days. But, guess what? It did not work. It's like internet is part of my life now (it used to be TV)... :-) I spent 10 minutes everyday to check emails and such... but that was all I did. Or else, I'd have to answer to my wife "Is it vacation or is it work at a nicer place than home?" Is there really is a nicer place than home ? hmmm... Maybe 'different place than home' sounds better. Now, vacation is over. It feels great. You know, that kind of feeling that you don't have to worry about a thing for a while; that you don't have a problem in your life. I wish there really were no worries and problems in our lives. By the way, check out the articles we have today. I got one from one of the legends, Tom "Big Al" Schreiter. By Tom “Big Al” Schreiter http://www.fortunenow.com I had lunch with Chris Gullo. I like taking Chris to lunch as he shares his best business-building ideas. This time Chris told me how to get a distributor to believe that he or she can move $20,000 in product a month. To get a new distributor the vision of moving $20,000 in product a month, this is what Chris says: "You could go out and sell $20,000 of products personally, but that would be a full-time job. So why not consider sponsoring just one person? Then each of you would only have to sell $10,000 of product. "Or, maybe you and your new distributor could each sponsor one new person so there would be four of you. Then you’d only need to sell $5,000 each in product. "But if you really wanted to make it easier, maybe each of you could sponsor just two people each, etc., etc., etc." What a great way to help a new distributor believe it is possible. By the way, lunch was only $14 for both of us at my favorite Mongolian restaurant. Now where else can you get a great business idea like that for only $14? So who are you going to take to lunch? Will you take your insurance agent to lunch to ask him how he gets so many referrals and never has to rent an Internet lead? Will you take your local restaurant owner to lunch and ask him for the exact words he teaches his staff to use so that they are able to sell desserts to 65% of the diners? Will you take your local police investigator to lunch to ask him how he gets his leads? How he knows exactly where to go? Will you take your local mail carrier to lunch? Wouldn’t your local mail carrier know who is staying at home because of downsizing and layoffs? Will you take your local car salesman to lunch to find out how he closes his prospects for a $40,000 sale after only meeting them one hour earlier? So many people to take to lunch. It's taken me a lot of years and a whole lot of persistence to develop myself into the business person and leader I've become and I'm still learning and developing every single day! I never gave up on myself or on anyone else. Where did all this success start from? From a little ole mommy with no business background, no corporate business background, no degrees, no contacts, no credibility six years ago to a 5 Star Director with my company in a little over a year. Now I call myself a CEO MOM! People are calling me now and it's a beautiful thing when you get to this place after working so hard. I'll be honest though, at times, it's not been an easy row to hoe! Has it been worth it? Absolutely! I've stumbled and mumbled and made many mistakes but the one thing I have not done is QUIT! What I HAVE done is learn by every one of those mistakes that have propelled me to the success I'm seeing now! I realized that I would be underpaid in the beginning but I know now what the future holds for me and others I'm mentoring as I stay on a consistent focused path to continue on leading others to great success too! I've been able to stay home with my kids and take them and pick them up from school and get them to their activities. Take off when I want to when they are off for the holidays. I even earn money when we're in Alabama at the beach! In fact, we went this last summer and when I got back my downline had grown! Now that's successful leverage anyone can bank on! I haven't had to work for someone else in over 12 years. There are a few things that I contribute to this success over the last six years as I've built a solid business consistently every single day.......... * Always treat your business as a business no matter how many hours you are able to devote and no matter how much money you're making in the beginning! * Find a tax preparer that understands home-based business tax laws * Set up a dedicated office, set hours you intend to work and keep those hours and do a business plan * Make sure you have a business bank account * Remember every contact you make could be a potential future client, business partner, customer, and friend. * Realize that every relationship you build is important! * Find mentors that you can relate to and learn from them. I've had so many that have encouraged, supported and inspired me over the years, some of them have become very good friends, Rod Nichols, Bob Gatchel, Daren Falter, David Hull, Tim Filuk, Steve Ferris, Mike Arnett, Ron Mueller, Kathy Porter, Jacqueline Freeman and so many others I've met over the last six years who have encouraged me. There have been many others who have coached and inspired me like Kim Klaver, Doug Firebaugh, Bob Burg, Mitch Axelrod, Jack Zufelt, Kevin Wilke, Joshua Safran, Matt Gill, Linda Locke, Venus Andrecht, Jan Ruhe, Nicki & Grace Keohouhou with the DSWA and so many many others! * Always be professional, polite and respect other people's time * Be consistent on a daily basis * Listen to people, I mean really listen... and learn! Always be learning! * Expect rejection, discouragement, disappointment and mistakes. You'll become stronger when you do! This is just a part of developing yourself. The more rejected you get the better you get! Trust me! * If you are not able to handle the above then you may not be ready to be in business for yourself. * Remember that self development comes before the fortune! Develop yourself into a leader and then you'll be able to help others do the same! * Follow up in a timely manner with people. If they are not interested that's ok, the timing may not be good for them. Be professional and follow up. That's your job as a professional! The better you are at this the more people will respect you! * Always do what you say you'll do even if it takes you awhile....do it! * Be honest and upfront with people at all times! * NEVER QUIT! Everyday for the last six years I have made contacts with people either by email, postal mail, phone, or in person. I got a lot of rejection. Sometimes it down right hurt but I just kept going forward and now the rewards I'm seeing are well worth it all! One thing I've really learned is that rejection, hardship, discouragement, disappointment have made me a much stronger person and leader.
