Dear Colleague,

Welcome to our new subscribers and Good Monday everyone !
How are you doing today ?
 

This newsletter issue is dedicated to Tun Dr. Mahathir
Mohamad, who is truly an inspiration to me.

I have mixed feeling of sadness and happiness. I am sad
because it is a great loss to my country for such a great
leader to go for retirement. After 22 years steering the
country to be who we are today, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad
retires gracefully from the title of Malaysia's 4th Prime
Minister. I admire his greatness and his leadership. His
legacy will remain one to be remembered forever.

On the other hand, I'm happy that after 22 years,
Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad had given his best to his
country. He really deserves to rest now.

We wish you "all the best, Dr. Mahathir !"

I'm also happy that Datuk Abdullah Ahmad Badawi steps up to
be Dr. Mahathir's successor. I believe the country will
create a new legacy. Congratulations, Datuk Abdullah.
Our support is with you.


My friend, I'm sure you have great leaders in your country
that you love so much that it could bring you tears when
you see them go. But, often, people don't value the
greatness of those leaders until it's too late.

People condemn, critic and sometimes curse the leaders.

Great leaders don't stop. They know what is best for the
people. They know that their fight is not over until they
say it's over. Great leaders are unique in their own ways.

You too are a great leader, my friend.

2. ARTICLE - The New Millennium Leaders

The New Millennium Leaders

Network Marketing, by virtue of its very nature, requires
leadership as its most vital function. One way to express
its nature is, "a lot of people each doing a little bit."
Whether the people involved do a little or a lot doesn't
matter, as long as you've gathered enough of them.
Historically, the most successful Multi-Level Marketing
organizations have rallied and held on to large numbers of
people.

So Why is Leadership so Important?

Let's take a look at leadership's literal definition.
Leadership is simply the act of inspiring or persuading
people to do something they would not ordinarily do on
their own initiative...say for example, join a MLM deal
and become a lifelong evangelist for its products and
opportunity. Most people that you and I know are not
looking to do that. Even faced with the opportunity, they
are not inclined to capitalize on it.

If You Lead...They Will Follow!

When a leader offers the opportunity, either directly or as
part of the package, followers have a tendency to follow. A
follower is anyone that does not have enough experience,
confidence, vision or power to lead in that particular domain.
It is interesting to note that a follower in one domain may be
a very powerful leader in another domain.

It takes a powerful leader to actuate and retain masses of
people in an environment that they are either not inclined
to enter in the first place, or tempted to abandon at the
first sign of difficulty (i.e., rejection, less than perfect
service, slow income results, etc.). This type of leader is
not merely the "powerful", old-school leader that manipulates,
sells and bullies people. A new, more powerful style of
leadership is required to attract and hold the masses in
a fickle environment such as ours. We call these leaders...

The New Millennium Leaders

Leadership is the profession of the next century. Virtually
all of society's ills can be sourced to a lack of leadership
-whether politics, education, business, religion, our
communities or our families. New Millennium Leaders will
be some of the highest paid, most revered, most influential
professionals available. Out with the old...in with the new!

Old Tired "Heads"
· Work toward selfish goals
· Choose the path of least resistance
· Pursue objectives only until obstacles are encountered
· Use a political-follow up the polls-approach
· Participate in deceptive manipulation
· Display a forceful leadership style
· Assert a dogmatic philosophy

The New Leaders
· Create a VISION that contributes to and inspires others
· Possess the COURAGE to say what is true and do what
must be done
· Have a COMMITMENT to do it any way, every day
· LISTEN at a therapeutic level
· Exude CHARISMA
-Do that which others fear
-Source others' needs
-Play full out in their groove
-Play full out in their values
-Play full out in their passion
-Have fun!
· Exemplify INTEGRITY
-Walk the talk
-Self-honesty
-Do the right thing
-Make decisions that serve others rather than self

Leadership is an art that can and should be taught. Leaders
are not born; they are developed either by their environment
or by another leader. I challenge each of you to take on
your own leadership development. Encourage any and all
budding leaders in your network to get on the path with you.
Your long-term financial security depends on it!

About the Author

Richard B. Brooke began his Network Marketing career in 1977,
at age 22, and has been a full-time distributor and/or
corporate executive ever since.

Richard has served as a board member of the Multi-Level
Marketing International Association, as well as on the Ethics
Committee of the Direct Sales Association. In addition, he
was one of ten individuals elected to the International
Network Marketing Directory's inaugural Hall of Fame. He
is currently the Chairman and CEO of Oxyfresh Worldwide Inc.

Richard has been featured in several national publications
and media stories. He was featured in the cover story of
SUCCESS's May 1992 issue. This was the first time a
mainstream business magazine featured Network Marketing

Go West...Young Man!

MLM building in foreign markets.

Building your MLM empire in foreign markets is an endeavor
on it’s very own.

Often I hear of distributors saying that if "this market"
or "that market" was to open, my MLM business will just
explode in growth. "I have a good friend over there that
can sign hundreds of thousands of people". That is the
reason I am not successful.

The search of greener pastures have led to the demise of
many a MLM distributor.

I really believe that in order to be successful in
building an MLM empire in foreign markets, one needs
confidence, perseverance, adequate financial backing,
and contacts.

But what is even more important is knowing how to:
(a) Pre-market - before your company goes over there.
(b) Recruiting and training the right people - other
than just sponsoring your friends and family members.
(c) Build systems in place to support your new
distributor base.

Let’s talk about Pre-marketing. You will want to start
prospecting in a market, even before your company
announces the country of choice. The reason being that,
it takes time for you to understand the market and the
culture. It is very difficult to just walk into a new
society and understand all the intricate idiosyncrasy’s
of the new culture overnight. Second of all, most
companies will open in a market based on what contacts
their existing distributor base has. This will give
you a definite edge over your fellow business associates.
My experience has been such to start this process as
soon as possible.

Other than just sponsoring your friends and family members,
my recommendation to you is to go after network marketing
professionals. I know that this probably goes against
what you’ve heard from your upline or company. I’m going
to tell you the hard truth.

Here’s the bottom line. You don’t have a lot of time and
money to waste. You also want people who understand MLM
and who do not have challenges around that business
concept. I would encourage that you go after MLM leaders
in your chosen market. At any point in time, 30% of MLM
leaders are not content with their present program for a
number of different reasons. If you happen to contact
one of these individuals at the right time, they can
potentially bring you hundreds, if not thousands of
distributors into your organization. Just see yourself
as a corporate headhunter, going after and recruiting
key MLM "players" to join your business. Remember, it’s
a two-way street. Your deal needs to be sweet enough;
and they need to have the desire to leave.

Once you’ve established a leader or two to work with in
the new market, get yourself on a plane and fly over there.
You will need to support this new group of people coming
into your organization. It is difficult to kick off a
new market by doing it long distance; at least in the
beginning.

Once you get over there, get to know them, start building
a long term relationship with them. Cater to their needs
by developing materials that will help them, based on how
they build their MLM businesses.

This means, translating material into their language...
brochures, business cards etc. Putting together
presentations highlighting your company. Remember, you’re
the "out of town expert, with the briefcase", so, you’ll
have instant celebrity status.

Just make sure that you have adequate funding to do this.

I once spent several nights living in a $49 per night
Japanese Tube Hotel. Yes it is true, you can rent
a 3'x3'x6' tube! They even have TVs in the roof (as
in you lay on your back to watch a tiny screen two feet
from your face). The opportunity meetings were a little
cramped but when your desire is big enough, you'll do
whatever it takes to win.

Once the new market gets kicked off, more than likely,
your MLM leaders in this new market will also have
contacts in other countries. This will be a good start
for you to develop the next market. As long as you take
a systematic approach to building in foreign markets,
you will not fail.

This is how I was able to amass a distributor organization
of over 44,000 distributors in 9 different countries, in
my past MLM program. The beauty of it all is that, once
you done it...the second time is much easier.

Step up and do it, before anyone else in your company gets
the same idea.
