2. ARTICLE - The Truth About Flash Success in Network Marketing

"The Truth About Flash Success in Network Marketing"

Flash success in network marketing is rare. And when flash
success occurs, there is usually a reason.
Many times you'll hear a speaker at a training or opportunity
meeting state:
"I just joined, talked to a few people, and by golly, in just
one month . . .
. . . I reached the top level in the plan and they need a
truck to deliver my giant-sized bonus check!"
Well, what the speaker said may be true. She did reach the
top and it was fast.
Unfortunately, because of time constraints on the meeting,
the speaker didn't get to tell the whole story.
You see, the reason the speaker sponsored such a big downline
in her organization in only 30 days could've been because:
* She had 20 years experience in network marketing.
She had lots of contacts, relationships and friends who knew
her, trusted her, and respected her. Since they also were
experienced network marketers, they were able to sponsor
many distributors quickly also. The speaker had 20 years of
preparation for this so-called "one month flash of success."
Or because . . .
* The speaker went door-to-door in her city and everyone she
talked to joined her program.
Too bad there wasn't enough time during the meeting to mention
that her mother was mayor of the town, owned all the houses,
and that the tenants felt obligated to do whatever her daughter
suggested.
Or because . . .
* The speaker worked as an assistant teacher for 40 years in
the community.
She also taught junior high sports. Everyone in town knows
her, trusts her, and respects her. In fact, she taught most
of the town's residents. How could you say no to the person
who used to make you clean the erasers?
Instant, flash success? I don't think so.
You have to earn your success in network marketing. That's
why some people grow faster than others.
So, if you don't have any friends, people hate you, no one
respects you, well, you'll just have to start building some
new relationships to get your business started. Once you've
built the relationships, your business will grow.

3. ARTICLE - Massive Action -VS- Management Mode

Massive Action -VS- Management Mode

David Lee was at the Top of his Game
In the early years, he didn't know any better than to stay
focused on building his MLM business. He worked 18 hour
day’s. He did 3-way calls, hotel business briefings and
conference calls. Later on he also started prospecting via
the internet. He was even traveling around the globe
building in the foreign markets where his MLM company was
expanding. He was the network marketer's network marketer.
In a less politically correct era, you would have said he
was a man's man. He was making more money than he had time
to spend and he could do no wrong. David had the Midas touch!
Then Something Happened
Even with all his success, David started to change his
strategy. He started to pass off the conference calls to
his downline leaders. At first there didn't seem like a
lot had changed but, then he refused to do 3-way calls
with his downline. He no longer spoke at the hotel
business briefings. He took days…and sometimes weeks to
get back to prospects via the internet. Then he started
to take frequent vacations and call from exotic locations
to give his team leaders their marching orders.
It all started when, fortunately for David, he started to
pay more attention to managing his business than in the
past. True, he may have lost sight of his next conquest,
but he did it just in the nick of time. If he hadn't
started focusing more on the mundane details of his
business he might not have noticed that the company
president had an all encompassing ego. He would have
missed the opportunity to voice his opinion on challenges
like products not being delivered in a timely manner....
or that the distributor service reps were not getting
information back to his distributor base as efficiently
as they had before. Somehow, when he was off building
his empire the company had slid into a non-perfect state.
How could he have missed those horrible flaws for all that
time? Lucky for David, it wasn't too late to start
concentrating all his efforts on what was important...
protecting his check!
Needles to say, David was no longer “engaged” in building
his business. He was on a mission to save the company from
ruin. Hopefully, he was in time! In spite of his constant
attention, however, it got worse. His commission checks
started to decline, there was dissent amongst his field
leaders, his organization began to unravel.
When I reflect back on my own MLM business, I was very much
like David. I was unstoppable. I could do no wrong. I had
vision. I knew what I wanted, and I knew where I was going.
As long as I kept my eyes on my goals, and my nose to the
grindstone, my business was moving ahead. I didn’t have the
time, or patience to make up excuses why my MLM business
wouldn't work.
My success really came from taking “Massive Action” for years
on end. Had I fallen into the same trap as David …..by
running my MLM business in “Management” mode, my organization
probably would have gone down the same road.
Here is the bottom line:
There is no perfect MLM company, product or compensation plan.
Company presidents and home office support teams all have
their flaws. Timing is never perfect and everything you can
think of that can go wrong, probably will. If you choose to
look for problems, you are guaranteed to find them. We always
get exactly what we are looking for.
On the other hand, Massive Action = Massive Results.
Concentrate all your mind, might and effort on building
your business and it will grow exponentially. Become a
leader and others will follow. Get excited about where
you are going and the world will want to go with you.
Management Mode is the Kiss of death for your MLM
organization. As long as you are focusing on what
is NOT working, you will forever be in “Management”
mode. Your MLM business is either going forward OR
backwards. It is never standing still. Don't be
one of those network marketers who fall into the trap
of thinking that they only need to build their business
once. This is a business that is always building but
never built.
History teaches us that all of the world's great empires
have crumbled from within. History also teaches us that
victory goes to the last one standing. Spend 80% of your
time building and 20% managing. If you treat your MLM
business, as a business, you’ll create a business income.
If you treat your MLM business as a hobby, you should
expect to create a hobby income.
As long as you are in Massive Action, you won’t have the
time to fall into Management mode. Ask yourself ….am I
taking Massive Action….OR …am I in Management mode? If
you are having problems figuring out the answer, look at
your downline printout , AND, your commission checks.
